Listen to KSAV’s “TV Confidential

with Ed Robertson and Frankie Montiforte” every other Tuesday @ 7:30 PM PST -  - 2 hours of a great program!

Hour Glass

Debuting on May 9, 1946, “Hour Glass” was the first commercial network variety show.

The Dick Cavett Show

debuted in May of 1969.  This groundbreaking show was very good.  Some of the greater moments are on DVD.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Jay Leno took over the tonight show from Johnny Carson on May 25, 1992.  I wonder how Conan will do.

June is a huge month for Variety Show debuts.  Please come back to this site on June 1 (our birthday too) for updated information entitled, “June Variety!,” book blogs and more.

Talking Television With Dave White was “the best 90 minutes of television on the radio.”  I first found this program when the Official Gilligan’s Island Site owner was a guest. I listened to the entire show and was impressed with the high quality of it.  Each week consisted of an opener, a run down of the latest television on DVD, a report or two about television then the guest is interviewed.  Did I say it was great?  It was.

On the June 24, 2008, this site, and its owner were on the show. Were you listening?

TV Confidential

This site was featured on KSAV’s TV Confidential on January 27.  The discussion was about the 1950-55 variety show, THE COLGATE COMEDY HOUR.
